Schelokovsky Khutor is a peculiar museum off the beaten track focused on wooden architecture that took up its residence in the real forest with a picturesque pond and ravines. However, you do not even have to leave the city to get there! Barns, original log cabins, a church, a well, a traditional bathhouse – these are the objects indispensable for a village life some centuries ago. They were transported down there from various parts of the region, hence were saved from impending decay. Nowadays, the open-air museum is home to 16 authentic landmark objects, which you are free to enjoy while wandering around. Celebrations, outdoor festivals and interactive games are held there. Strolling from one construction to another, it is no surprise you may get out of touch with reality and even be sold on the idea of time travelling
